Centre Manager

Vanessa MacDonald is the Centre Manager of the ARC Training Centre for Healing Country. With experience in business and program management across the arts, health, education and research sectors in Australia and the UK, Vanessa brings well rounded experience in managing large scale, dynamic programs with real world impact.

Vanessa holds a Bachelor of Arts (Social Sciences) with further qualifications in project management and community development. Building on a background in marketing at the Department of Health, WA ‘2&5 Fruit and Veg’ and ‘Quit’ campaigns and Penguin UK, Vanessa developed her career in program and business management at Springer academic publishers, Perth Children’s Hospital, VET and Higher Education institutions and museums, collaborating with great teams to deliver meaningful projects.

As Centre Manager of the previous ARC ITTC Centre for Mine Site Restoration at Curtin University, Vanessa is a passionate advocate for training pathways and applied research that creates solutions while building relationships and impact within the wider community.

In her spare time, Vanessa enjoys travelling, live music and exhibitions, gardening in her vege patch and walking her retriever, George.
