EcoHealth Network

Dr James Aronson is the Partner Investigator representing EcoHealth Network in the ARC Training Centre for Healing Country. James is co-founder and a steering committee member of the global action network called EcoHealth Network, and senior scientist emeritus with Missouri Botanical Garden’s Center for Conservation and Sustainable Development.

Previously, he worked for 25 years as a restoration ecologist at the Center for Functional and Evolutionary Ecology, of the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), in Montpellier, France. He has participated in or advised on ecological restoration and rehabilitation projects and programs in many parts of the world. He has published over 250 papers and co-authored or edited textbooks such as “Ecological Restoration: Principles, Values, and Structure of an Emerging Profession”, “Restoration Ecology: The New Frontier” and “Restoring Natural Capital – Science, Business, Practice”, and “Biology and Wildlife of the Mediterranean Region”. His main area of research and activity today is to advance the science and practice of ecological restoration and show the importance of their interconnection with public health.
