We had another great student info session this month in the newly renovated library at Curtin University.
This session was focused on our Restoration theme and was filled with great discussion about what we aim to do at Healing Country and how students could be involved.
It was great to see the student’s enthusiasm and understanding of how important it is to combine Traditional Knowledge with Western science for restoration. As explained by the deadly Heidi Mippy, “you can’t heal Country without the people that belong to it”.
Thank you to those who attended, and a special thanks to our speakers for representing the centre on the day;
– Heidi Mippy for giving insight on what we aim to do at the centre and getting the yarns going,
– Simone Pedrini for providing his expertise on seeds in restoration,
– Michael Just who spoke about his experience as a PhD student
– Grace Wyeth for organising and kicking the session off.
Also, a thank you to the library team at Curtin University for showing us the beautiful new space we were able to use.
Stay tuned for our next student info session happening soon! 😁😁👍🏽
