Danjoo Koorliny Social Impact Summit

Day 1 

Keynote presentation was co-presented by Healing Country Centre Director Prof Stephen van Leeuwen and Glen Kelly OAM, exploring how Two-Way Learning of Indigenous and scientific knowledge can improve land management.

Day 2

Healing Country team members Prof Stephen van Leeuwen, Prof Kingsley Dixon, Dr Adam Cross, Vanessa MacDonald and Christian Miller -Sabbioni presented a Healing Country Panel, discussing how our Centre aims to connect Indigenous and scientific knowledge with meaningful Right Way collaboration and co-design. We discussed the importance of links between restoration, eco-health and socioeconomics in managing and restoring biodiversity and healthy Country, as highlighted in the State of Environment report.

Our fellow Healing Country members presented throughout the 2 days including:

  • Ben Cole from Wide Open Agriculture (Partner Investigator and Partner Organisation of Healing Country).
  • Keith Bradby from Gondwana Link (Partner Investigator and Partner Organisation of Healing Country).
  • Oral McGuire from Noongar Land Enterprises (Board Member and Co-lead of the Restoration research theme for Healing Country).

It was a privilege to be involved and share in this Summit, meeting the incredible community drawn to this movement. We look forward to more shared activities with Danjooo Koorliny over our Healing Country Program.
