Damon is a Centre Administrator at the ARC Training Centre for Healing Country (Healing Country). He is a Yamatji man from the Gascoyne region of Western Australia, with family connections in the Pilbara and South-west. Damon grew up on Yinggarda and Whadjuk countries, where his grandmothers nurtured a strong connection to art and land.
Damon studied Graphic Design and Photomedia at Edith Cowan University, gaining proficiency in creative tasks and processes including design thinking and collaborative design. After university he moved into a role in Mobilisation at Biologic (a biodiversity company and partner organisation of Healing Country), where he translates design processes and problem solving into the logistics of state-wide fieldwork.
Through Healing Country, Damon is gaining business and organisational experience that he will utilise in enterprises that empower his mob.
